Babu in his statement said that everyone should give the comedian a break as people from poor backgrounds like him and Eric only had rivers and lakes for swimming pools.

The vocal and controversial legislator said that at the time, the only swimming costumes they had was their naked bodies.

“We should all give Eric Omondi a break. We from poor families had rivers and lakes as our swimming pools with nudity as costumes,” said Babu in a tweet.

His sentiments come hours after Eric Omondi apologized to the public for the outcry caused with the video he posted swimming naked with young boys in a river.

City Pastor Robert Burale also came to Eric's defense after he made the apology saying that he is a strong believer in forgiveness.

In his apology, Eric said that he has been a comedian all his life and he had made many mistakes but this was one of those days he had offended many and he was deeply sorry for doing it.
