The father to the journalist has maintained his protectiveness over his daughter as she is set to be charged with murder alongside her fiancé Jowie.

In an interview with Nation, the patriarch said that the only thing his daughter is guilty of is loving someone who was wrong for her.

He also revealed that he did not raise his daughter to be the kind of person who is cold-hearted enough to read the news in a murder she was involved in.

“The day after Monica’s murder, my daughter read the same piece of news at Citizen. How callous can she be to participate in a murder and have the courage to read the news? That is not the girl we raised,” He disclosed.

Mwangi Maribe on Jowie

When speaking of Jowie, Mr Mwangi revealed that the suspect in Monica’s death had visited his home twice or thrice in the company of his daughter but didn’t know much about him. In fact, he learnt of his daughter’s engagement the same way a large part of the country did, through the media.

“She is an adult and I was not following much about their relationship. I even heard of their engagement over the media,” said the journalist’s dad.
