The Emgwen Member of Parliament appeared alongside nominated MP Jennifer Shamalla to discuss the Gender Bill which flopped in Parliament.

The second-time MP sparked the curiosity of Kenyans on Twitter who seemed to have no idea who he is.

Kosgey was especially popular with the ladies who wanted to know the youthful-looking MP's age, marital status as well as his career and family background.

Netizens were also impressed with the MP's articulate opinion and went on to praise him as "smart", "sharp" saying that "we need more MPs like him in Parliament".

He is a "bad boy" MP

Unbeknown to the excited multitudes is that MP Kosgey holds the record for Kenyan MP who has skipped the highest number of Parliament sessions.

In July 2017 a petition was presented in Parliament indicting the Emgwen member for missing a record 60 parliament sittings including 8 committee meetings.

He is also the son of former Kericho Senator and veteran KANU politician Henry Kosgey.

Kosgey's choice of shoes also featured prominently in the online discussions as commentators wondered why he had worn a casual Clarks pair that looked a bit aged.

Commentators sought to find out why the MP had the same pair of shoes in all his public appearances.

In response he stated: "I guess I'm a really bad shopper...it's interesting what people notice."
