Sonko reconnects with former DG Igathe at joyful family wedding [Videos]

Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko on Sunday, January 12, 2024, reunited with his former deputy, Polycarp Igathe, during the latter’s daughter’s wedding in the upscale Runda Estate.

The event marked a heartwarming occasion filled with celebration, laughter, and reunion.

On his X page, Sonko shared his delight about attending the vibrant ruracio ceremony for Matilda Igathe and her fiancé, Luios Muthengi Kimanzi.

Sonko made the event even more memorable by presenting an expensive bottle of alcohol, which Igathe was visibly excited to receive. The two leaders shared heartfelt words, rekindling their bond.

Matilda Igathe, the bride, boasts an exceptional academic and professional background. She is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Management, Strategy, and Leadership at the University of Dundee.

This follows her Bachelor of Arts degree in Politics and Economics from the University of Leicester, where she graduated with an Upper Second-Class Honours in 2021.

Her earlier education includes an International Baccalaureate Diploma from Braeburn Garden Estate in 2018.

Matilda has also built a solid professional portfolio. Her experience includes internships and roles in organisations such as NUADA, Vivo Energy, and Youth Theatre of Kenya.

She worked as a Business Development Intern at NUADA where she honed her skills in market research, data analysis, and marketing strategy.

Matilda served as a retail support assistant at Vivo Energy. Her passion for storytelling was evident in her six years as an actress and creative consultant with Youth Theatre of Kenya, where she also served as Assistant Director for the 2022 production of Kesho Amahoro.
