President Uhuru Kenyatta will be in Dandora on Saturday morning to kick off Ushirika Day celebrations.

According to a brief from State House, the President will make a stop at KCC Dandora Factory where he will officially commission the renovated facility.

"The President will start the day by Commissioning the revamped New KCC Dandora Factory in the morning.

"The Head of State will then proceed to Upper Hill where he will officially open the National Co-operative Housing Union (NACHU) Plaza followed by Mwalimu Towers in the same area," the brief outlined.

President Kenyatta will make the final stop at Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) where he will also give his speech for the day.

What is Ushirika Day?

Ushirika Day is commemorated around the world as the UN's International Cooperative Day every first Saturday of July.

The 2019 theme is "Co-ops for decent work".
