NASA leader Raila Odinga on Tuesday cancelled all the planned NASA demonstrations until Friday when he promised to issue further communication.

Odinga stated that the rather surprise decision was made as an honour to Kenyans who have lost their lives in the hands of police during the coalition’s anti-IEBC protests.

Odinga specifically mentioned the case of a form 4 student who was allegedly killed by police in Kisumu.

"The latest killings have exposed the ugly face of the alliance between legitimate security organs ans militia armed and dressed by the state to subdue people seeking free, fair and credible elections,” Odinga stated in a press statement.

The NASA leader also announced that the Opposition coalition would honour its deceased supporters during Mashujaa day (coming Friday).

Odinga stated further direction on the course of action would also be revealed, adding that his team was exploring ways of holding Interior CS Fred Matiangi and IG Joseph Boinett liable for the police killings.

The development came as the High Court suspended an order issued by Matiang'i banning demonstrations in Nairobi, Mombasa, and Kisumu CBDs.
