Machakos High Court on Friday ruled in favour of Governor Alfred Mutua, in a petition challenging his win of the August 8 General Election.

In the ruling made by Justice Aggrey Mchelule, Mr Mutua's win was upheld after his arch rival and Wiper Party candidate Wavinya Ndeti failed to produce sufficient evidence of election rigging.
According to Judge Mchelule the former Kathiani MP failed to prove that the election was rigged to favour the Governor.
In her petition, Ms. Ndeti mentioned that the election was marred by massive irregularities. She argues that Mutua was not elected in a free, fair and transparent manner as required by the Constitution.
