Master of Science (International Accounting and Management Information Systems) - University of Illinois

Professional career

Mr Ranguma worked as an accountant for close to 30 years. He served as an Audit Manager in charge of a large quasi-government in audit portfolio by BDO International.

In 2002 he was appointed Commissioner of Income Tax, and later Commissioner of Domestic Taxes, Kenya Revenue Authority. In 2008 he became Senior Policy Advisor, Tax Justice Network Africa, a pan-African organization.

Political career

After being floored in the early 2017 ODM party primaries, Ranguma will be defending his seat in August as an independent candidate, facing off with Omolo Peter Owino (ANC) and Anyang' Nyong'o of ODM.

Jackton Nyanungo Ranguma (ODM) got 336,270 votes in 2013 against his rival Francis Otieno Oseny of TNA who got 7,300.
