IEBC Finally releases list of voters

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has finally released the number of voters eligible to vote in the August 8 General Election.

According to the list a total of 19, 601, 502 will be voting in the upcoming poll.

The IEBC highlighted that there are a total of 40,770 polling stations across the country.

Nairobi has the highest number of voters standing at 2,250,853 while Kiambu comes in second at 1,180,920.

The list comes days after Kenyans raised questions on why the electoral body had not released the data as required by law.

A scrutiny by Plive.co.ke identified the top 10 counties with the highest number of voters.

1. Nairobi  - 2, 250, 853

2. Kiambu - 1, 180, 920

3. Nakuru - 946, 618

4. Kakamega - 743, 736

6. Machakos - 620, 254

7. Murang'a - 587, 126

8. Mombasa - 580, 223
