IEBC Chairperson Wafula Chebukati on Wednesday made his first public appearance after weeks of maintaining a low profile.

Chebukati received a comprehensive compilation (Compendium) of electoral laws that have been published by the UNDP.

UNDP's Chief Technical Officer, Joram Rukambe, handed over 500 copies to the IEBC Chairman during a meeting at the electoral commission's office at Anniversary Towers.

Questions on the Chebukati's whereabouts were raised after his deputy at the IEBC, Connie Maina, issued a statement where she signed as "acting Vice Chairperson".

Ms Maina was responding to parallel results released by the NASA coalition a few days before its leader Raila Odinga was sworn in.

At some point, Chebukati fell victim of fake news after a news website reported that the IEBC boss had been killed in Kampala, Uganda.
