The video shared by Sonko sparked controversy as Passaris who is in the same party as incumbent Evans Kidero is heard supporting the flamboyant Senator affiliated to the Jubilee Party.

"Despite coming from the same camp, has disowned & I don't blame her. His failure as Governor is monumental," Sonko captioned the video.

The clip that was recorded in August 2016 became a start of an online tussle between Sonko and Passaris.

The aspiring Women rep was prompt to rubbish Sonko claims noting that his 'desperation' had forced him to post an old clip.

"My vote is 100% for He's the right man for the job. To use a interview dated Aug 2016 is desperate," Passaris stated.
