Raila's Life in Danger - Orengo
Siaya Senator James Orengo on Tuesday claimed that the life of ODM party leader Raila Odinga was in danger.
Speaking during a press briefing, Mr. Orengo alleged that the former Prime Minister was being trailed by eight Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) soldiers.
According to the Senator, the eight were among 60 officers being trained in Wajir.
"These officers are using police vehicles with non-GK number plates that also keep being changed. The eight were relocated to Kiambu on an unspecified mission," Orengo said.
He noted that three other NASA principals were also at great risk.
"Prior to the release of the eight officers, a number of trainees had from time to time shadowed and trailed Raila and other co-principals in their daily political activities.
"We fear Jubilee is hatching a similar plan again with this suspicious training," he said.
Orengo's claims come at a time when Odinga alleged that KDF soldiers were being trained to rig the August 8 General Election.
NASA leaders demanded Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet to assure Odinga that he will be safe during the poll.
