Kiraitu Murungi – Meru Governor
- Kiraitu Murungi was born on 1 January 1952 in Kionyo village, Abogeta division of Meru District in Eastern Kenya. He attended Chuka High School before proceeding to Alliance High School.
- Murungi graduated with a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Nairobi in 1977 and attained a Master of Law in the same university in 1982.
- He attained another Master in 1991 of Law from Harvard Law Schoolwhere he served two years in exile in the United States at the heyday of Daniel arap Moi's one-party dictatorship.
