Embu accident kills 1 inmate

On Tuesday, an accident near Thuci River in Tharaka Nithi County killed one prisoner and injured eight others who were being transported to Meru.

"It’s sad that we have lost one inmate who was serving a life sentence. Other inmates and some of our officers sustained injuries at Kathageri. The road is steep and the driver lost control and rolled," Embu Prison officer in-charge Henry Ochieng told reporters.
