She is a graduate of St. Paul’s University, Limuru with a Masters Degree in Development Studies. She also holds an undergraduate degree in Development studies from the University of Saskatchewan.

She is affiliated to a Jubilee party. She is a member of Education and Science and Technology and Implementation Oversight Committees.

She is a Kenyan Politician who belongs to Jubilee party. She is a wife to a Prof. Barnabas Mitaru and a mother to four children - Ann, Sarah, Steve and Elizabeth (Liz).
