The 2018 Zuri awards held on Friday March 9, feted 5 phenomenal Kenyan women doing outstanding work in their communities.
With the inaugural award ceremony being last year, the Zuri awards sought out to recognize and honor women that go unnoticed for the things they do for their communities.
Speaking during the award ceremony, Director of Go Gaga Experiential and Co-founder of the Zuri awards Norah Mumo expressed her excitement on the steady growth of the awards in feting deserving women all over the country.
“We hope that this recognition will spur the women to soar to greater heights,” she said.
United Nations Resident Coordinator (UNRC) and UNDP Resident Representative to Kenya Siddharth Chaterjee encouraged more women to “come into these spaces, rise up and shine since you are the ones who will take this continent forward.
This year’s awards were judged by Dinah Musindarwezo – Executive Director, Femnet. Derek Bbanga - Strategic Communications Specialists – MD Public Image , Evelyn Chibole - Creative Designer and Entrepreneur, Rev. Dr. Julius Weche Founder and CEO Akad Education Group- Africa, Faith Oneya –Journalist, Barbara Akello – Communication Strategist, Faith Mutwiri, Paul Mugambi – CEO Kytabu, Faith Mutwiri – Quality Analyst & GM Transken-Limited and Jenniffer Muindi .
