Nairobi County has the highest number of reported criminal activities according to the 2018 Economic Survey released this week.

In 2017, Nairobi had a total of 7,434 crimes reported to police by command station. The figure shows that the crime rate in the Capital is on the increase as in the previous year, 2,480 fewer crimes were reported.
Kiambu comes in second as the county recorded 5,603 criminal activities in 2017, a 6.7 percent decrease from the 2016 report, where 5,603 crimes were recorded.
Meru is number three with 5,151 criminal activities recorded followed by Nakuru, where 4,313 crimes were reported to the police.

In general, 30 command stations recorded decline in all crimes reported to the police.
Kakamega county command station recorded the highest decline of crimes reported of 33.5 percent from 2,382 in 2016 to 1,584 in 2017.
