Matatu overturns at Ngara, rescue operation underway [Photos]

A 14-seater matatu on Tuesday morning overturned at Ngara stage along Murang'a Road, Nairobi.

The matatu belonging to Lucky B. D. Travelers Sacco lay on its side as members of the public assisted passengers to crawl out to safety.

Several passengers incurred injuries but there were no reported casualties from the incident.

Eye witnesses blamed the driver of the vehicle for speeding along the busy road at an hour when it's at its busiest.

Githurai bus accident along Thika Road

Recently, a Githurai bus was captured on CCTV just moments before it overturned along Thika Superhighway.

The matatu was seen wobbling just seconds before it landed on its side at the Survey underpass.

The driver seemed to have been over speeding while negotiating a corner when he lost control of the bus, causing the accident.
