Watch Dr. Pimple Popper Squeeze a Chunky 'Grits-Filled' Cyst
This isnt your average Southern comfort food. In a new YouTube video, Dr. Pimple Popper aka, dermatologist and TLC host Dr. Sandra Lee, MD gets her hands on a grits-filled cyst. And its truly an impressive pop.
In the clip, Dr. Lee uses a surgical punch to reach the deeply embedded cyst, then uses her fingers to squeeze the growth. A tube-shaped coil of cyst contents comes snaking out, looking like creamy grits. After the cyst is full drained, Dr. Lee goes back in to remove the cysts sac wall, which guarantees the festering growth wont return.
Oh, gross! the patient says when Dr. Lee shows him the cysts sac wall. The reaction is warranted, as whats dug out of the patients skin is truly massive.
That sac was huge! one fan commented, with several others sharing similar sentiments.
In the comments of clips like this, some fans express distain for the type of tool used, claiming it looks too harsh on skin. But in the comments of a previous video, Dr. Lee explained why she sometimes uses this punch-like tool for removals .
If it is smaller and deeper under the skin, I use the punch, she writes. For bigger pops, I use the scalpel. At the end of the day, I want to make sure that I can create the cleanest suture and the smallest, if any, scar for that area.
The cyst is likely an epidermoid cyst , which contain a collection of wet dead skin cells and keratin . This type of cyst can occur on the face, neck and body.
