Watch Dr. Pimple Popper Remove a 'Chewed Taffy' Neck Cyst
This removal is as sweet as candy. In a new Instagram video, Dr. Pimple Popper aka dermatologist and TLC host Dr. Sandra Lee, MD removes a large cyst behind a patients ear. Once removed, the stubborn mass looks like a piece of chewed taffy due to its texture, color and size.
In the quick clip, Dr. Lee makes an incision down the length of the cyst, then uses a pair of tweezers and surgical scissors to loosen the growth from internal structures. But the growth is seriously stuck, leading Dr. Lee to struggle a bit. With some force and determination, the famed dermatologist is able to remove the quail egg-sized growth in one pieceand it's a lot bigger than it appeared.
The textured growth looks like a wad of chewed gum or taffy once removed. And this is truly one tough piece of taffy.
Such a stubborn bugger, one fan commented on the clip.
The cyst featured in this video is likely an epidermoid cyst , which contains a collection of wet dead skin cells and keratin . Epidermoid cysts often occur on the face, neck, and body.
