National Transport and Safety Authority of Kenya (NTSA) has forthwith declared South Sudan state licence plates null and void.

On a statement released on their Twitter feed, NTSA said The Government of the Republic of South Sudan is in the process of nullifying number plates under the following series:
- CE
- EE
- SSJS
- UNS
- WS
- NBGS
New plates have been unveiled under country code SSD.
These are the only plates that will be recognized.

This new implementation begins on the 13th of December 2017.
NTSA directs motorists to acquire the new plates from the South Sudanese government.
