The NASA coalition on Tuesday gave President Uhuru Kenyatta twenty four hours to personally ensure that the security detail of NASA leaders was reinstated.

The announcement was issued by NASA leaders led by ODM Chairman John Mbadi who claimed that the move to withdraw security for Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka was aimed at causing them harm during the anti-IEBC protests planned for Tuesday.

Mbadi claimed that the fact that the bodyguards to the two leaders were withdrawn on the morning when they were to hold demonstrations was not a coincidence, further alleging that the coalition was aware of armed Mungiki members ready to destabilise their protest.

They further warned that they would hold further protests to have the bodyguards reinstated.

"If the State fails to reinstate the security detail of our leaders, we shall take mass action right to their doorsteps," the ODM Chairman stated.

The NASA leadership stated that President Kenyatta had a duty to protect Odinga and Musyoka given that they are presidential candidates.

"Uhuru's single most important duty during his incumbency is to protect this country from chaos," Mbadi remarked.

ODM Director of Communication Philip Etale confirmed that the bodyguards to the NASA presidential and deputy presidential candidates were recalled and redeployed to North Eastern in unclear circumstances.
