There has been a new development in the case against quark doctor Mugo wa Wairimu, after he was charged afresh together with his co-accused.

In the new development, Mugo wa Wairimu who appeared before the Milimani Law Courts was denied bail while his co-accused Victor Gathiru and Risper Ouma were released on their first bond.

The three are expected in Court on January 3rd 2019 for a mention before the hearing which is set for February 7, 2019.

Standard reported that the prosecution asked the court not to grant Mugo wa Wairimu bail because he had proven that he could fail to show up for his trial

Mugo denied bail

This new development comes barely a month after he was charged for conducting business without approval from the Pharmacy and Poisons Board and also practicing without licenses.

Mugo was charged on November 23rd while his co-accused Ouma and Gathiru were charged with the same counts on November 8.

NTV expose

Mugo wa Wairimu was arrested following an expose by NTV’s Dennis Okari that uncovered his rogue activities as he operated another illegal clinic in Nairobi’s Kayole, three years after he was arrested over the same.

NTV disclosed that they had tracked Mugo for over three months and discovered how he still preyed on his vulnerable patients and exploited unsuspecting patients who visited his clinic.
