Meet Jacob Frey, the Marathon-Running Mayor of Minneapolis
Men's Health chatted with Frey for our recent story, "50 States of Fit."
What's the most urgent public health issue facing your city?
A lack of access to affordable housing. Housing is foundational to a healthy societyand to a healthy life. Without safe and reliable housing, its next to impossible to secure healthy food, get a stable job, or pursue a dream. We strive to provide a stable foundation from which people can rise. That foundation starts with a home.
What does it mean for your city to be "healthy"?
Outdoor recreation is great for emotional and physical health. And theres no urban area in the nation better for spending a day outdoors than Minneapolis. Were committed to making sure that every person in every neighborhood in our city is within a ten-minute walk from a park. Thats good for public health, public safety, and civic pride.
