Mark Consuelos Once Suspected Kelly Ripa Of Cheating On Him And Tried To 'Catch' Her In The Act

Kelly Ripa and husband Mark Consuelos are one of the most solid couples in Hollywood . (They've been married since 1996 and have three kids together , after all!) But Mark just opened up about an incident early on in their marriage where he thought Kelly was cheating on him.

After we were married, I was doing a show in Boston, and I couldnt get a hold of her all day, the Riverdale star, 49, recalled in Marlo Thomas and Phil Donahues new book, What Makes a Marriage Last, per Us Weekly . We didnt have cellphones then. I got a really bad feeling. So I got on a flight to New York and called her from the plane and asked her what she was doing that night.

The Live With Kelly and Ryan host, 49, explained that she told Mark on the phone that she was cleaning the couples bathroom. But he didn't buy her story.

Apparently, he thought that sounded very fishy. He wanted to catch me, she continued. So he gets home and tells the doorman to call up to the apartment and tell me theres a flower delivery. Im excited because Im thinking, Oh my gosh, hes sending me flowers!

When Kelly opened the door, Mark was standing there. He stormed in looking for the man he thought his wife was having an affair with.

I have a johnny mop in one hand, and Im wearing a bathrobe, Kelly recalled. So I open the door, and its him. He comes inhe doesnt even say hello. Hes looking for something. Im still looking for the flower guy! And hes sweeping the scene!

Obviously, Mark didn't find anyone and later admitted that he felt "horrible" and knew he was "wrong" for assuming his wife would cheat on him.

"[Im] less jealous these days," he said in the book. Clearly, Mark learned his lesson since the couple just celebrated their 24th wedding anniversary on May 1, 2020.
