On Wednesday night, the Governor underwent surgery and is said to be recuperating well.

Nyong'o had travelled to Nyeri on Tuesday evening ahead of the conference which was to take place on Wednesday.

Unfortunately, he slipped while walking on a pavement, and injured his arm after which he consulted a doctor in Nyeri for first aid attention.

Nyong'o went ahead with the conference on Wednesday, while spotting a sling.

It was after the conference that he went to Aga Khan University Hospital where he was treated for a fracture on the  humerus bone of his left arm.
