High court blocks government from withdrawing gun from NASA leader

This is after the government threatened to revoke gun licences of NASA leaders.

The high court issued a blow to the government's latest efforts in clamping down on National Super Alliance leaders who were affiliated with the swearing in of NASA leader Raila Odinga.

The presiding judge, George Odunga directed that the matter be presented again on the 13th of February to show the way forward.

“Leave so granted by this court do act as a stay of the revocation of firearm certificate No. 002754 pending hearing and determination of the substantive motion,” ruled Justice Odunga.

This is after Dagoretti North Member of Parliament Simba Arati went to court to challenge the decision by the Firearm Licensing Board to revoke firearm certificates of NASA leaders.

According to the January 30th notice, MPs had until February 1st to surrender their firearms.

According to Citizen TV Kenya Muthama had filed an application under certificate of urgency stating that no notice was given and thet he had no opportunity to respond.
