The Governor said that soon after his security was withdrawn on Friday afternoon, he took to the bush where he grazed his cattle, feeding on blood and milk.

He added that he had opted to go to the remote bushes near the Kenya-Uganda border since he was guaranteed of support from members of his Pokot community.

“It’s been a long time since l grazed my animals. I was grazing them at Kanyerus, Morita and Losidok villages for the three days I have been away. Feeding on blood and milk. I have really missed ugali,” the county boss narrated.

Lonyangapuo’s problems with the state started on Wednesday evening when he confronted traffic officers who had arrested a boda boda rider from his county at a manning block along the Kitale-Lodwar highway.

The former professor of Applied Mathematics freed the boda boda ride, personally dismantled the police blockade, and sent a warning message to Interior CS Fred Matiang’i and IG Joseph Boinnet to train police officers on how to deal with civilians.

His bodyguards were later withdrawn but was on Tuesday able to get a court order blocking his arrest, and requiring the state to return his security.
