Kipchoim has been ailing for some time and was elected while still on the hospital bed.

She had been receiving cancer treatment since 2014 until her death on Friday morning when she passed on at the Nairobi Hospital.

Kipchoim was first elected in 2013 and was re-elected in 2017 despite being away from the campaign trail as she remained bed-ridden through the campaign season.

She is one of the 22 female MPs who were elected for constituency seats.
