The government has announced last minute changes to a press conference that was schedule to give an update on the Covid-19 situation in Kenya after the firs case was reported on Friday, March 13 2020.

Government spokesman Col Cyrus Oguna stated on Saturday that that the press conference that was planned for 10:00 am had been moved to 5 PM.

A brief statement signed by government spokesman announcing the changes cited unavoidable circumstances.

“Due to unavoidable circumstances, the media invitation that was scheduled for Saturday, 14 March 2020 at 10:00 am has been moved to 5:00pm. The venue however has not changed. We regret the inconvenience arising from this change.” Read the statement.

The press conference will be held at Kenyatta National Hospital.

Earlier on, a statement posted on the official Twitter account for the Government spokesman read in part that “There will be a press briefing tomorrow 14/03/2020 by CS Mutahi Kagwe on #Covid_19 @ Kenyatta National hospital.Time 10:00am”.
