NASA principal Moses Wetangula and acting Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangi exchanged insults via SMS just hours after the latter banned anti-IEBC demos.
Hours after the no-nonsense CS outlawed demos, Wetangula sent him a message questioning the authority he had to do so.
"Mr Matiang'i why don't you engage a lawyer to advise you on the constitutionality of your action, utterances and threat to innocent Kenyans. You have no power and capacity to ban lawful protests and or demonstrations," Bungoma Senator wrote via an SMS.
However, Wetangula was shocked when he got a one-word reply by Matiang'i "nonsense".
In a rejoinder, a furious Wetangula lashed out at the CS telling him he was unfit to hold public office.
Matiang'i banned protests within Nairobi, Mombasa and Kisumu CBDs, citing destruction of property during demonstartions.
In accordance with the law, due to the recent breach of peace as witnessed, the government will not allow any more demos," he stated.
However, NASA leaders have vowed to defy the order beginning with the protests scheduled for today.
