Nyenze, who previously served as Leader of the Minority in the National Assembly, died at the Nairobi Hospital.

The soft-spoken Wiper legislator had been ailing for some time, to the extent that he was forced to carry his oxygen tank during the swearing-in ceremony in August.

Nyenze was a long serving politician who had also served as a Cabinet Minister in President Daniel Moi'sgovernment.

He passed on at the age of 60 years, and is also the first member of the 12th parliament to die in office
