Devolution Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa has deposited his own Mercedes-Benz car in court as surety for former Lugari Member of Parliament Cyrus Jirongo.

Former presidential aspirant Jirongo had been ordered by court to deposit a sum of Ksh.5 million or face remand.
He was released on Thursday after paying Sh5 million where he spent two days in police custody.
Jirongo was on Wednesday arraigned in court for failing to pay a Ksh.20 million debt owed to businessman Brian Yongo following a court order.

Before appearing in court, Jirongo had been arrested on Tuesday over Sh20m debt owed to businessman Brian Yongo.
The businessman had accused Jirongo for failing to pay him the balance of Sh25 million loan which he had allegedly advanced him between 2014 and 2015.
