Clifford Machoka quits Nation Media for greener pastures at Coca-Cola

Clifford Machoka has been appointed as the Director of Public Affairs, Communications, and Sustainability at Coca-Cola East and Central Africa. 

The seasoned professional was previously the Head of External Affairs at Nation Media Group (NMG). 

In his new role at Coca-Cola East and Central Africa, Machoka will play a pivotal role in shaping and enhancing the company's public image, managing communications, and driving sustainability initiatives. 

Machoka's accomplishments at NMG have earned him recognition as a strategic leader in the field of public affairs and communications.

He joined NMG in 2016 from BAT and started as the group head of corporate and regulatory affairs. 

After four years he was appointed the head of external affairs and marketing. 

Prior to joining the media industry, Machoka worked at BAT for four years. During his stint there, he served in various positions such as Corporate & Regulatory Affairs Manager, regional affairs manager for EAC and government relations manager for Kenya.

Other roles he has held include a research assistant at Maastricht University, a legal assistant at Waruhiu K’owade & Ng’ang’a Advocates as well as interning at the World Trade Organisation. 

Clifford has a legal background, having earned an LLM in Globalization and Law (International Law) from Maastricht University in the Netherlands and a B.A, LL.B (Hons) degree from NALSAR University of Law in India.
