Kenyan national women volleyball team beat Uganda counterparts 3-0 in an opening match of CAVB Zone V World Championship qualifiers played on Friday evening at Kasarani Gymnasium.

The Malkia Strikers won in all sets with 25-12, 25-15 and 25-12 margins respectively to put themselves at a  better position in quest for a slot in World Championship finals.
It was a successful national team debut for Celestine Nyongesa, Immaculate Chemutai, Ann Lowem and Leonida Kasaya in a squad which consisted of stars like Janet Wanja, Jane Wacu and Mercy Moim.
Kenya will on Saturday meet Rwanda, who fell to Egypt on the opening day.
