Figuring out what to wear to a wedding can be tricky.

Is your outfit too skimpy or are you under dressed for the occasion? Should you wear heels or not? So many questions and not so many answers.

While the final decision on how to dress depends on you, here are some items to keep away from.

1.Anything white

It’s a long-known rule that white is specifically reserved for the bride during her special day. Unless it is an all-white wedding, keep off wearing anything white.

Don’t try and upstage the bride on her own wedding day – that’s just cruel.

2.Jeans

You can give up your favorite jeans for that day. For guys, you can opt for a smart casual look – chino pants can help achieve this- while for ladies a nice dress r skirt should do.

3.Nothing skimpy

Avoid wearing outfits that reveal too much skin especially if the service is going to be held in a church or any other religious sanctuary.

All in all, leave the short, tight dresses at home on that day.

4.Keep the venue in mind

This is important especially when it comes to shoes. If it is a garden wedding, avoid wearing heels that are too high. A simple wedge or low-heeled shoes will do great.

Aside from the venue, remember that you will be doing a lot of dancing during the reception so keep that in mind when attending a wedding.

5.Go by the dress code

Some weddings have dress codes which can make your search for an outfit a bit easier. Also don’t try and stand out by not going by the dress code – you’ll just seem like a prick by doing this.
