Gareth Bale was started upfront together with Daniel James but ended up being a blunt pair in attack after failing to score in both halves.

James was twice denied in quick succession in their best chance of the opening 45 minutes before Brennan Johnson saw the Fulham loanee inadvertently deflect his goalbound effort wide.

Poland were in no hurry to double the lead as they sat back and defended their narrow lead hence frustrating the Welsh players.
