The young singer recently chatted with Mens Health on IGLive, where he admitted hes having a hard time trying to stay motivated while quarantining with his girlfriend in LA. Ive lacked the motivation for a sense of structure, he says. Thats something in the past Ive operated really well off of, and these days its obviously pretty hard to find that. Its insane how the weeks are just meshed together, but Im trying to find a silver lining in it. I believe that when motivations the most difficult to find, thats the most important time to put your head down and get to work.

Its surprising for a millennial to be so candid about his mental health, but thats been Bazzis MO for the majority of his life. Ive always been observant of it and paid attention to my emotions, the singer says. In the process of that, you develop a sense to share the direction youve discovered for your own self, which has definitely been important to me.

To help get a better sense of self-control, Bazzi tries to avoid the internet as much as he can, due to worrying about developing unnecessary insecurities that inevitably come with too much time on phones. To have a young generation who spends a lot of time consuming randomness online, I think thats going to become very damaging, the musician says. I dont think we fully understand the side effects of where thats going to take us, and the insecurities that are going to be rooted in ourselves for years to come.

Is there something Bazzi feels peopleyoung and oldneed to understand while the world is going through a lockdown? The answer is yes, and for him, its educating people about how damaging social media can be to mental health, and the need to take some breaks from electronics once in a while.

People need to learn to spend time outside of it and not place your value of any of these apps or anyones opinions of you on these apps, he says. Place your value on your health and things that are real and hold substance. 95 percent of things online is just brain fast food, and I think we are in the infancy of consuming it. I just hope we grow from it sooner than later.

As for what the musician is doing to take care of mental health: hes watching movies, playing some video games (hes a particular fan of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild), and placing importance on family and friends to help him be a simple, good person.
