Police officer shoots himself dead in toilet

A Mombasa based police officer shot himself dead on Saturday morning, while in the toilet.

The officer identified as Charles Ndolo is reported to have been based at the Kipevu Police Post and had gone to the toilet before he shot himself in the head.

According to a report by Capital, a senior officer from the Mombasa Port Police confirmed the incident and that investigations into the matter had been started.

“It is true a police office by the name Charles Ndolo shot himself dead today. We are still investigating the reason,” said the Mombasa Port Police boss Patrick Lobolia.

He went on to say that Officer Charles Ndolo used an AK-47 rifle he had to shoot himself and that his body had been moved to the Coast General Provincial Hospital Mortuary.
