Kenya misses out on top position in Iaaf U-18 championships

Kenyan athletes bagged the most number of medals but failed to hit the top position.

Kenya’s team finished fourth in the 2017 Iaaf World U-18 athletics championships held at Nairobi’s Kasarani Stadium between July 12 and July 16.

The hosts bagged a total of 15 medals including four golds, seven silvers and four bronzes to finish behind Cuba, PR China and champions South Africa in that order. The latter won five gold medals, three silver medals and three bronze medals.
Kenya’s gold medalists are George Manangoi (1500m boys), Leonard Kipkemoi Bett (2000m steeplechase boys), Jackline Wambui (800m girls) and Caren Chebet (2000m Steeplechase girls).
