Nyeri County Assembly staffer succumbs to Covid-19

A member of staff at the Nyeri County Assembly has succumbed to the novel coronavirus disease.

The staff member’s death was confirmed by the Nyeri County Governor, Mutahi Kahiga who said that five other staff members are in hospital, fight the Covid-19 disease.

Following the development, Nyeri County has suspended all non-essential services for a period of one month, and only health, finance and emergency services will be offered without interruption.

Governor Kahiga called on staff members aged 58 years and above to get vaccinated against Covid-19.

He directed other members of staff to work from home, including those aged 58 years and above.
