The former investigative journalist was moving a motion where he wants health services improved across the countries.

Ali proceeded to move his motion in his signature Swahili that impressed non-coastal MPs.

The standing orders provides two official languages in parliament- English and Swahili.

The rules of the Parliament, however, require that once a motion is moved in one language, subsequent contributions and debate must continue in the same language.

Those who contributed after Ali had a hard time, with some coming up with non-existent Swahili words.

Kiminini MP Chris Wamalwa rose on a point of order questioning Ali's conclusion which requires the mover to pass the motion.

"Hoja haijawakilishwa kikamilifu katika zile mnyambuliko mheshimiwa (Ali) amesema (The motion has not been moved accordingly in the contributions made by Ali)," Wamalwa stated in utterly broken Swahili.

However, the Kiminini MP was shortly educated on the Swahili meaning of moving a motion which he had missed.
