Opposition Coalition officially announced as coordinating team formed to pick flag bearer
The announcement was made by a united opposition led by their leaders Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetang’ula and Musalia Mudavadi at the Serena Hotel in Nairobi.
At the same time, the leaders named a coordinating committee made up of eleven members to spearhead the coalition’s operations as well as the process of picking a flagbearer and a running mate to face it off with Jubilee’s President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto in the August elections.

NASA rally
The leaders also announced that NASA will hold its first official rally on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Bomet County to be hosted by Chama Cha Mashinani’s Governor Isaac Ruto.
“This alliance is a special purpose movement to uproot Jubilee from power for its misrule and abdication of responsibility and collusion in runaway corruption and the dwindling of Kenya’s economy,” Raila said.
The Cord leader said NASA was a vehicle for an alternative, responsible and accountable leadership that would restore hope in self-governance among Kenyans.
Wiper Leader Kalonzo promised Kenyans that the NASA team will take Jubilee home.
“For Kenya to stand, Jubilee must fall,” he said.
Ford Kenya leader said the formal announcement of the launch of NASA was the first public commitment that they have embarked on firm steps for an alternative government to be presented to Kenyans.
Amani National Congress leader Musalia Mudavadi also announced that NASA would have a joint platform manifesto and blueprint on issues of concern and challenges facing the country.
