Two of the victims were reported to be in critical condition and were admitted in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

Fire fighters had a hard time accessing the fire scene given that the hotel is located at Mudavadi Market which has a high population of local traders.

The fire was eventually managed.

The County Executive for Health, Dr. Rachael Kamau said that the victims were already receiving treatment at the Nyeri County Referral Hospital.

According to Dr. Kamau, most of the victims were admitted in the general wards with severe and superficial burns.
