Touched by his humility and belief that he can help them the Igembe South constituents gave him 18, 867 votes against fierce rival Rufus Miriti of Jubilee who garnered 15, 411 votes.
The third candidate was Mwenda Mzalendo with 7,695 votes.
Speaking to Nation following his win John Paul promised “Since I come from a humble background, I understand the issues that affect the residents. My key agenda will be to transform the lives of the people.”
