In a statement condoling with the country, President Kenyatta told the PM that Kenya will extend any help that UK might need during this tragic time.

“I have assured the Prime Minister, Rt Hon Theresa May, that she will have any help we can give; and that we will stand with her and with her country in the fight against extremism,” Kenyatta said.

The Head of State comforted the mourning families noting: “Kenya knows what it is like to suffer a tragedy such as this, so our hearts go out to the U.K., and especially to the families which have woken to the devastating news this morning”.

The explosion, which is believed to be a terrorist attack, happened during a pop concert by US star Ariana Grande.

"So far 19 people have been confirmed dead, with around 50 others injured. This is currently being treated as a terrorist incident until police know otherwise," police said in a statement.

Ms May has condemned the "appalling terrorist attack".

"All our thoughts are with the victims and the families of those who have been affected," she said in a statement.

At the same time, Inspector General Joseph Boinnet asked police officers to beef up security.

Last week President Kenyatta was in UK where he met with PM May.
