In a tweet, Mr. Maraga disclosed that Magistrate Mulekyo was attacked by unknown assailants. He sharply condemned the incident and called upon the police to investigate the matter.

“Last night’s carjacking of Kwale Chief Magistrate Doreen Mulekyo was a shocking incident to the entire Judiciary. We thank God she wasn't hurt.

I call upon the police to ensure the culprits are arrested. We want to see better security for all our staff, and indeed all Kenyans,” he tweeted.

This comes months after Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu’s driver was shot by unknown gunmen after escorting her to her home in Karen.
