According to Business Today, Mashirima was poached by the S.K Macharia owned media house to fill in the place of Kanze Dena who was recently appointed Deputy State House Spokesperson by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Ms. Mashirima will join her former boss Joe Ageyo and former colleague Yvonne Okwara who recently joined the Royal Media Services.

She will be part of a dream team by the RMS with the likes of NTV's Nimrod Taabu, Rashid Abdalla, and Linus Kaikai who is now the Director, Strategy and Innovation, Jamilla Mohammed who is Managing Editor Swahili, Weekend anchor Victoria Rubadiri and Senior Reporter Enock Sickolia.
