Nakumatt midfielder praises Gor Mahia, blames dad for AFC Leopards move

The 25-year old player, who is an Aspire Academy product says the move led to his downfall with blame fingers pointing at his father.

In an interview with a local television, Wanyonyi openly praised K’Ogalo registering his hope of donning the green jersey again with a view of rekindling his form.

"I did a mistake by leaving Gor Mahia. I blame myself and my dad because he forced me to join AFC Leopards on grounds that he had played for the team. I never wanted to play for AFC Leopards.

"I blame him (his father) for influencing my move to AFC Leopards from Gor Mahia because right now I could have been a star, maybe I could have been like Wanyama (Victor) or Mariga (McDonald) or Oliech (Dennis).

"I realized that the moment I moved from AFC leopards to Gor Mahia, my performance dropped. I still need to be at Gor Mahia. Even when I was at Tusker FC I still wanted to be at Gor Mahia. I always call them for a chance.

"I pray to God to help me go back to Gor Mahia."

Wanyonyi joined Nakumatt in July 2016 after he was dropped by the defending champions Tusker.
