The directive was issued through head of public service Joseph Kinyua.

In the spirit of allowing you to celebrate Christmas with family and friends, it has been decided that you can take Christmas recess with effect from Friday 21st to Monday 7th January,” Kinyua’s letter reads in part.

The head of public service issued the letter on 18th December and has in the past years made similar communication given that most government offices remain inactive during the festive period.
